Note to self: no weekend ferries, catch an earlier time, & sit on sun deck!
Once we docked people were whisked away in shuttles & we were making deals with taxi drivers. We just wanted to get to our destination, The Jungle Club. A fellow traveller we met in Bangkok recommended it.
Our taxi drove us about 25 min to the bottom of a hill & honked at a jeep like vehicle. We loaded our bags & jumped in the truck containing 4 women. Their first words to us were "Welcome to the jungle!!". Our spirits were instantly lifted by their bubbly personalities. They were visiting from the Maldives (but looked Indian). They warned us about critters & jungle noise, but raved about staff & views. People come for dinner just for the view overlooking Chaweng Beach.
We rambled up a very steep hill for 5 min. It hit us, we were really in the jungle! We were getting anxious & excited about our destination. We arrived at the Jungle Club & instantly fell in love.
We were nicely greeted, got poured a cold bottle of water & checked into our hut. While waiting for paperwork we noticed a Bob Marley picture framed on the wall which gave us good vibes...mon.
We reached our cute little hut that had 2 beach chairs & table in front waiting for us, a nice bed with mosquito net, & outdoor style shower. It's pretty open so anything can come in!
(Pics from the morning)
Today we woke up from something shuffling, Aimee woke up Dusty to check what it was..it was just a cricket stuck in a ziploc bag (thank goodness!). We watched the sunrise & read The Alchemist on our "porch".
Our plan today is to lounge & take in the property & breathtaking views.

We did a 7-11 run & got a bunch of dranks, goodies, & interesting flavored chips like sweet & sour, & crab curry.
*they have shuttles that take you down to the main road or Chaweng Beach. Only 4 x 4 can make it up here.
Beautiful hut! Now I am sorry I skipped koh samui thinking it was too touristy. Loved all the photos!
ReplyDeleteKoh Samui is very touristy! We didn't like the crowds so much. We stayed in the "jungle" majority of the time & kept extending our stay here. 2 nights turned into 4 nights & we upgraded from our hut to a bungalow. If you make it back here, we definitely recommend the Jungle Club! It's hard for us to leave :( we head to Krabi in the morning.
